ASTA to Offer Professional Development Workshop

ASTA is pleased to offer a new professional development workshop, Differentiated Instruction, a highly-effective and student-centered teaching concept. This program is a two-day conference on Saturday November 6th and 13th from 8:30am-3:30pm at the Arvest Bank Conference Center (201 NE A St, Bentonville).

AAE Releases 2010 Member Survey

This week, ASTA's national affiliate, the Assoication of American Educators released  the 2010 AAE Member Survey: Teachers Support Reform Efforts When Reform Efforts are Fair . The survey was conducted this summer, polling AAE members from all fifty states on issues relating to education and education reform.

Arkansas to Receive $40 Million to Turn Around Failing Schools

Arkansas will receive $40,167,637 in federal funds set aside from the 2009 stimulus act to help turn around the lowest performing public schools in The Natural State.

"Worst performing schools" are just that, they perform in the bottom five percent of the state, have graduation rates below 60%, and consistently fail the students, parents, and communities. School districts apply to the state to get the federal funds.
