More teachers are embracing Facebook, Twitter, and text messages for posting assignments or answering homework questions. With social media use becoming more mainstream, principals, teachers, parent volunteers, and other adults affiliated with public schools are frequently using social media for networking purposes. However, learning to take advantage of technology without crossing the social networking line can be a challenge.

The Arkansas State Teachers Association (ASTA) announced its statewide teacher scholarship and classroom grant award winners for fall 2010, with six teachers each receiving up to $500 for various pursuits in education.

 
New Poll: Americans Want to Fire Bad Teachers, Pay Them More

According to a new poll released today by the Associated Press and Stanford University, an overwhelming majority believe that it is necessary to fire bad teachers, but in contrast believe that teachers are paid too little.
 
Arkansas Teachers to Receive Christmas Bonus

Teachers in about half of Arkansas’ 239 school districts will receive a bonus this holiday season due to a $90 million federal grant.

 
ASTA Offers Scholarship to T-Cubed Conference
