HOW ASTA WORKS DURING THE SESSION:

We communicate member concerns and needs to legislators in a personal and respectful way. We believe in working with legislators in a professional manner that builds and sustains positive relationships. You will never see ASTA evoke a “bully pulpit” or publically disparage elected officials or policy makers in order to influence educators or legislators. Maintaining a sense of professionalism and dignity is important to us as we never forget we represent Arkansas education professionals.

ASTA staff testifies in committee meetings on behalf of its membership using research and the results of surveys and feedback received from members. This is one reason it is very important to respond to surveys.
