Renowned Speaker Guy Doud to Present to El Dorado Teachers

El Dorado, AR— Dr. Guy Doud, 1986 National Teacher of the Year, is coming to El Dorado on Tuesday, October 14, to address the teachers of El Dorado School District. The event, titled An Evening with Guy Doud: Molder of Dreams, is being sponsored by the Arkansas State Teachers Association (ASTA) and the Association of American Educators Foundation (AAEF).

Dr. Doud, widely considered to be one of America’s most respected and beloved teachers, became a teacher after graduating from Concordia College in 1975. Since being named National Teacher of the Year, he has spoken in front of hundreds of audiences, including the convention of the National School Board Association and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He has also appeared on national television broadcasts such as Prime Time America, Straight Talk, and Heart to Heart.

“We are very honored to be able to bring Dr. Doud to El Dorado for this professional development event,” said Kristen Boswell, director of ASTA. “He is an incredible speaker and is sure to motivate and inspire our teachers.”

Dr. Doud has written several books, including Molder of Dreams, which made it in the top ten on the Christian Best Seller list, Joy in the Journey, and I Thought You Would Like to Know.

The event will be held at El Dorado Municipal Auditorium from 7 to 8:30 pm and is complimentary to all teachers in El Dorado and the surrounding areas. Teachers can RSVP by calling 1-877-742-2782 or by visiting www.astapro.org. Two hours of in-service credit will be awarded, and certificates will be available on site.
